I think the only thing about this was that it was on the short side and sort of just ended... try fading the music out towards the end.

This is an aseroids remake and you know it, another similar game made by you had the word roids in it. seems like they were the same basic engine.

Ok, let me just clarify here. Viroidz is the game you are talking about, that WAS an asteroids game (to some extent) and I have no issues admitting that, hence the name and the fact that you shoot blobs which break into smaller blobs, you ship moves with the keyboard in a very similar way to asteroids etc.

This is actually a completely different engine, its fast paced (something which asteroids was not), its mouse controlled and doesn’t take place within a circle like viroidz. Only one type of enemy split up in this game (and those enemies will not be in Neon 2). I really regret putting those enemies in now. Without them I don’t think anyone would call this an asteroids game. Unfortunately I didn’t think of that when I made them.

You see if I knew this is an asteroids remake like you say then I would have no problem saying so, the reason that I’m so against it is that this is supposed to be just a shoot em up game in the style of geometry wars... nothing to do with asteroids. If you think geometry wars is an asteroids remake then fair enough, so is this, but otherwise I still stand firm in saying this is NOT an asteroids remake.

If you disagree with me then that’s up to you. Its not like I’m ashamed for this to be called an asteroids game, its just that it wasn’t the intention at all, so when I get people saying “What a lame game, just another cheap rip off of asteroids” that’s what makes me a bit annoyed because the game is being put down for something which it is not (in my opinion).

When Neon 2 is released, I think (and hope) that these games will be seen as what they are supposed to be, a flash shooter in the style of geometry wars. This is the last time I’m going to “defend” the game. Think what you like, but I know what this game is.
